When you look 18, Feel 14 and Act 8.. That's what happens when you turn 40 and that's exactly what our friend Priya is! Times may have been tough recently but our love for her is uncompromised, even during the pandemic. Near or far, celebration is a must to make the birthday girl feel extra special and loved.
Our friends, Kanika Singh and Chandana Surana had the whole thing planned. A bottle of wine was sent along with a beautiful hand-written note, as an invitation to each one of the ladies attending. The idea was to pop open each, together and raise toast for the ‘girl of the day’ over a Zoom conference call. Thanks to the technology, we were able to organise a sweet little celebration, despite the distances. It not only saved the travel time but friends from anywhere and everywhere could be a part of it and at ease. Another benefit of this kinda celebration was that one of our friends, had something important to attend to, which she was able to execute and later join the party, again. Making the most of what we could get that day, this online party was unique in itself.
We had a few online games planned, which were easy to execute as everyone was on one screen and equally involved. We even came up with a hashtag for the celebration, #Ohpriya. From smiles and giggles to laughter and chuckles, it was a sweet little memory that will stay with all of us.
The overall experience has been overwhelming for each one of us, as we all hadn’t met or gotten together for quite a long time. Emotionally, we all realized how important each minute of the party was and how much we needed to connect with each other, to share, laugh and have fun, even if virtually.
