Sundowner Party

Sundowners are a great way to get your favourite people together for a relaxing party scene where you can lounge, drink, listen to music without a worry about ‘What time will clubs in Delhi close?’ and ‘What do I wear to this party?’

On a surprisingly pleasant Delhi evening, we found ourselves craving exactly that - so we threw ourselves (and, of course, our friends) a sundowner part by the poolside. A sundowner is easy to put together since there is not a lot to fuss about, and everything can be put together in under an hour. Since part of the fun in a sundowner is appreciating the setting sun (the name’s a giveaway, in case you were wondering) and the skyline - we chose our balcony front with a pool as the setting for the party.

With about 15 people coming in, we places some ottomans across the floor and the pool side for a comfortable seating. To reduce the cleaning for next day, we chose disposable (and sustainable) cutlery for food and set up the bar in the open kitchen itself. Food was kept bite sized and so we ordered some snacks online that go well with wine and beer. All that was left to do was - play some lively music and set up the hookah to set the mood for the rest of the evening. As for decor, we chose to keep it simple, and only opted for dimming the lights in our lobby and by the poolside to give that natural sunset effect.

There is nothing like a weekend evening with a bottle of wine, and your friends to prepare you for the week, so for anyone relaxing at home - how about you relax at a sundowner?!
