Birthdays during the lockdown had been all about little and sweet gestures; and we have always believed in going that extra mile, making things aesthetically-pleasing and extremely personal at the same time.
Felipe is our photographer and filmmaker at Grand Ballon. His immense love for traveling and one of his favourite films, “Coco”, inspired us to choose the Mexican-theme for his surprise birthday party.
Due to the pandemic, the gatherings might have been limited but the options to make him feel extra special, weren’t. We started the day with a bike race at Patrika Gate, in an absolutely safe way, which was followed by a delicious breakfast takeaway. We got Felipe tired enough to rest all afternoon in his room, which allowed us to prepare everything for the party that followed.
It was a party held exclusively for team of Grand Ballon. The chosen theme was MEXICO, and demanded a lot of hand craft and sculptures with balloons; so we had prepared everything, 3 days in advance. Karine was the creative director of the party and guided the team in all of the production.
The cuisine too followed the Mexican theme. The delicacies got all of us nostalgic about travelling and every delicious bite transported us to Mexico itself. It was a treat to our wanderlust sight and soul. In addition to singing the soundtracks from the movie “Coco”; we had a lot of fun with Karaoke, which has become a tradition among us friends.
It was a very special night, where we were able to bring back all the good things that happened, during the time we are together here in India. We will cherish these beautiful and colourful memories in our hearts, forever.
