Celebrating Karine

So this was our very first anniversary in the quarantine period. We were all excited about the planning and execution for our first house party in the lockdown, on Karine’s birthday. Since we could not invite friends over, we decided to celebrate at home and make that day extraordinary for the birthday girl.

Karine is the director of Grand Ballon Performing Arts School. In addition to being an excellent singer and actress, she is graduating in aesthetics. We decided to theme the party around her vibrant personality and hence, gathered everything accordingly.

While we were making arrangements for the party, Karine woke up with a delicious breakfast in bed, got invited to a beautiful lunch with a serenade at her window, won a spa kit so she could enjoy the day and pamper herself at home. We kept some lip-smacking snacks coming in throughout the day, along with her black coffee, which she loves so much.

To fun things up, we all wore bathing suits for the celebration as this was a quarantine party at home. We used photos of her life’s special moments to decorate the space, with a delicate touch of balloons and lights. We prepared our infamous Brazilian snacks and our absolute-favorite cake, but as someone who takes great care of her health, there could be no shortage of fruit, flavored water with fresh fruits and other healthy delicacies. Karaoke was chosen as the night's attraction, of course we couldn't compete with the singer but sure had a lot of fun singing to our favorite songs and dancing on “Just dancing”.

It was a very fun night to thank God for- the gift of Karine in our lives, blessings of great health and everything we have experienced in the last year.
